Welcome to the WWWEEKEND blog!!!1

I feel like I have to do a ‘hey, welcome to the blog’ post even though I don’t really have much to say. The whole idea of WWWEEKEND is pretty simple, you know? Easy to navigate, easy to consume, targeted, and super easy to post. In fact, I love how the posting works. I spent a lot of time getting rid of redundant information - like never showing a date that isn’t a weekend. I hate drop-downs and calendars on the web as form inputs. They look super ugly. I’m also not a huge fan of requiring accounts if they’re not needed. So no accounts…no drop downs…no calendars. Just a really simple service to see what’s cooking this weekend in your area! If we’ve launched in your area.

So yeah, there is my launch post. Hope everyone likes the service. Contact me if you’ve got any comments, etc. I’d love to hear them. Have a good weekend!!

Why isn’t WWWEEKEND in my area/city?

Good question. Instead of being super ‘web 2.0’ and letting everyone do everything and anything on the site…I decided to control which cities/areas get launched manually myself. For example…I don’t want their to be an NYC version of WWWEEKEND, I’d prefer their be a more targeted area like the L.E.S. or Greenwich Village, etc. The whole idea of WWWEEKEND is to be really targeted, and simple. I don’t want it to get overwhelming, etc.

So right now I’m just launching the service in areas where I have friends that can help it grow. But if you’d like the WWWEEKEND in your area…then maybe we should be friends, you know? Or not, whatever works. Either way, contact me about your area and we’ll get the service launched there ASAP. Whatever it takes to make everyone’s weekend a bit more fun.
